Ban on use of Thuraya/Irridium Satellite phone in India
Advisory
Satellite Telephone through 'Thuraya', 'Iridium' and such other sets are unauthorized in India. Foreigners visiting India are thus advised not, to carry or use the 'Thuraya' / 'Iridium' Satellite Phones. Violators would be prosecuted with confiscation of such satellite phones, and other penalties under Section 6 of Indian Wireless Act and Section 20 of Indian Telegraph Act.
